Working in the Southern Ocean is a unique and unforgettable experience. Heading towards Antarctica, we crossed the Drake Passage where one of the mightiest ocean currents on Earth – the Antarctic Circumpolar Current – is flowing eastwards. With some help from a storm, we could easily get waves higher than 10 meters in this area. But we still need to keep working to collect samples day and night, no matter the weather. Such extreme conditions can make you feel really seasick. So, everyone onboard shares his own experience, feelings and, of course, his magic potions to fight the rough sea!
